See you on Sunday 4 February for the Kandahar 2024 slalom
30/01/2024
The great popular festival Kandahar will take place on Sunday 4 February with the Men's World Cup Slalom.
This year's event will once again set the village of Les Houches and the whole Chamonix-Mont-Blanc valley alight. The world's best slalom racers will battle it out on very hard, compact snow.

"The slalom course is in optimum condition in terms of both quantity and quality of snow. Its location at the bottom of the valley means that not only does it benefit from night-time refreezes, but above all it is not affected by temperature inversions. The temperature of the snow remains negative (so it doesn't change), we have between 60 and 80 cm of depth and a good width to meet all the safety requirements.
In these conditions, the show is going to be magnificent, with a rare spectator bonus at Les Houches: the mild temperatures and sunshine expected on Sunday should raise the temperature and the atmosphere in the stands for the 2nd run! After Schladming, we have to show that the French are ski fans too!"
Fred Comte, Director of the Chamonix Sports Club.
The organisers' unfailing experience in slalom events
With a wealth of experience in organising slalom World Cup events (the last editions in 2020, 2021 and 2023 are proof of this), the Kandahar organisers, supported by hundreds of volunteers, will once again be putting their expertise at the service of the world's best skiers.
It's an opportunity to put on a magnificent sporting show for the public. The atmosphere is guaranteed, as this Kandahar will also be celebrating 100 years since the first Winter Olympics in Chamonix, 100 years of the FFS and 100 years of the FIS! A sporting and historical event not to be missed!
Une rude bataille annoncée pour la victoire !
After Clément Noël's magnificent podium finish at the last night slalom in Schladming, the Frenchman could well be back on the winning track in Chamonix... It's a track that the skier is very fond of, having won the slalom in 2020 and 2021!
But the battle for the top step of the podium promises to be a tough one... Linus Strasser, winner of the Schladming and Kitzbühel slaloms, will be determined to go for a third victory. Manuel Feller, provisional leader of the slalom world cup, is also the man to beat this season, with a string of podium finishes... The Norwegians also look formidable, with a team of slalom racers who have been performing extremely well since the start of the season.
It promises to be a great spectacle.
